About Kisstopher

Hello, my name is Kisstopher Musick. I am an American-trained and qualified therapist/psychologist and hold a master's degree in psychology and have been helping people since 1987.

Prior to earning my master's, I was formally trained in differential diagnosis, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Gestalt therapy, applied behavioral analysis, classical talk therapy, developmental therapy, and speech pathology by Applied Behavioral Consultants, one of the leading behavioral modification companies in the United States. I worked with Applied Behavioral Consultants (ABC) for 5 years before opening and leading a group practice in 1992. In 2009, I decided to complement my qualifications in applied behavior analysis with a Master of Science in Psychology from Walden University, which I completed in 2011.

I led my group practice in the United States for 15 years. I have lead Adjustment Guidance since 2009. Throughout my more than 20 years of experience I continue to enjoy great success helping individuals, couples, families, young adults and children thrive.

When I moved from California, USA, to Nagoya, Japan, in 2007 with my husband and son, I recognized that there was a profound need for qualified native English-speaking mental health care services. That's why I founded Adjustment Guidance. As the founding psychologist (therapist, counselor, coach, guide or whatever you prefer to call it) at Adjustment Guidance, I will work tirelessly to help you and your family thrive.

I passionately believe that everyone deserves to have more good days than bad, and I am dedicated to helping you achieve this. I am dedicated and diligent in my care. I will listen and do my very best to ensure that you feel seen, heard, and validated while guiding you in the work that needs to be done to overcome whatever obstacles or issues you may face. I believe that you deserve the opportunity to build the life you imagine.

I am a proud member of the American Psychological Association (APA) http://www.apa.org, Japanese Psychological Association (JPA) http://www.psych.or.jp/english, Psi Chi: National Honor Society in Psychology http://www.psichi.org, and the American Chamber of Commerce Japan (ACCJ) http://www.accj.or.jp. I follow the international ethics mandates and guidelines set forth by the governing body of the American Psychological Association.
